Vaughan Athletic Center Field House
The Vaughan Athletic Center Field House has a total of 41,000 square feet. Its four basketball courts are surrounded by a 1/8-mile track. The Field House is available to rent for special events, or courts can be rented on an hourly basis when space is available. There are times set aside for open gym for youth, adult and members only to shoot hoops. The Field House also is equipped with three batting cages. Manual feed pitching machines can be rented or a temporary mound can be used to work on pitching skills. The track may also be rented on an hourly basis for clubs or schools that want to practice or host meets if time is available. Anyone may walk the track for a small daily fee or a senior track pass may be purchased. Important Open Gym Information Players must obtain a Park District ID card to participate in open gym programs. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present to obtain an ID card for the first time. All participating households must complete a family profile in order to obtain a Park District ID card. All participants must present a valid driver's license, state ID card or utility bill to verify residency. The first ID card is free. If it's lost or stolen, replacement cards can be obtained for a $5 fee. Open Basketball
Times are open to the public and are subject to change to accommodate leagues or programs. Other open gym times are set aside for pass holders only. Batting CagesThe Vaughan Athletic Center is equipped with three batting cages that may be rented by the hour ($20 for residents / $25 for non-residents). Each cage has a manual pitching machine where users can feed balls at their own pace. All have adjustable speeds for different ages and levels from youth to adult. All the machines can be used for either baseball or softball. There also are two temporary mounds that can be used inside of the cages for those who need to brush up on their pitching skills. The center will provide the balls, but players should bring their own bats and helmets. Call 630-907-9600 for information. Field House Track / Senior Track PassWalkers may pay a daily fee of a $1 for seniors and $2 for residents or senior citizens may purchase a Track Pass for $10 that is good for 30 days to walk, jog or run around the Field House’s 1/8-mile track. Please bring a change of shoes before walking. Hours are 5 to 9 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday; and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The Track also may be rented out by the hour for clubs or organizations wanting to hold a practice or meet. Days and times for meets are subject to availability.
Field House Court Rentals Teams that are looking for some extra practice time or any group wanting to shoot hoops can rent courts by the hour. Courts also are available for volleyball rentals. Call 630-907-9600 for information.
