Take the sizzle outta summer with cooldown evening activities – indoors and out – happening across the FVPD in July! From concerts to kickball, here are five activities to consider this month, but be sure to check out the Events Calendar for a full lineup of July fun!
Live & Uncorked
Enjoy live tunes performed by some of Chicagoland’s hottest cover bands amid the perfect-at-sunset backdrop of Blackberry Farm! Load up your wagon with coolers, collapsible tables, and bag chairs for a community-centric evening of entertainment. The popular summer concert series is BYOB, so guests must be 21+ to enter the park. Save $2 when you purchase tix at least one day prior to the event!

Wine & Canvas at the Farm: ‘Boardwalk’
Bring your favorite bottle of wine, snacks and a few friends to enjoy a creative night out while an instructor guides you through the painting of ‘Boardwalk,” a lovely seascape with sand, crashing waves, and blue sky. Pour a glass and discover the artist inside – you might be surprised! Paintings are posted monthly on Blackberry Farm’s Facebook page. Like and follow us today!

Nerf Attack @ VAC
Stake your territory in our Nerf Battleground, which is filled with cushy obstacles and barriers for a fun, safe activity that involves strategy and physical fitness. We’ll supply the Nerf guns, foam darts and eye protection for all participants. Day-of spots are limited and could fill in advance, so pre-registration is encouraged. (Note: Organized games and target shooting will take place.)
When: Wednesday, July 19, from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. (6-7Y); 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (8-10Y)

Summer Stage: Mary Poppins
Come fly through London with the world’s most famous nanny and her jack-of-all-trades sidekick as our Performing Arts team presents its 53rd edition of Summer Stage with an on-stage adaptation of Disney’s Mary Poppins! Staged in West Aurora High School’s auditorium, the performance features 150 cast members (ages 5 to 60) and a live, 16-member orchestra – community theater at its best!
When: Thursday-Saturday, July 20-22, at 7 p.m.; matinee performance on Saturday, July 22, at 2 p.m.

Kickball at the Park
Round up your friends and register to compete in one of everybody’s favorite playground games! With two age groups, we’ll split into teams and play different versions of the classic outdoor game at Harmony Pointe Park, located at the north end of the Vaughan Athletic Center. (Note: The activity will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.)
When: Friday, July 28, from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
